How can you monitor colossal amounts of brand and keyword terms and make sure you aren’t missing crucial information? It sounds overwhelming until you start using your social media management software.

In the Services section, under Monitor, click Brand and Keyword Monitoring. It’s that easy.

Once you’re on your Settings page fill in your description, include the keywords or brands you want monitored- be sure to separate these with OR.

As soon as you add the keyword, any mentions will be picked up. You can also add an Exclusion filter to exclude any entries and an Inclusion filter to ensure only certain words will be pulled in.

If you want to set a Google Alerts Feed it’s available, you can also decide whether you prefer to receive data from particular countries and even narrow it down to Area and Radius.

To receive notifications of new mentions via e-mail, simply select Email Notifications and enter your preferred e-mail address.

Once you save the desired settings, the service is automatically available under the Monitoring section and Keywords where you find a flowing personal stream tailored to your needs.
